Giant Paper Flower

Materials Needed:

Red, Pink and Green Tissue paper sheets
(or any colors you would like)
2 Drinking straws (not the bendable type)
Pink pipe cleaner

Scissors, tape and glue

Directions:

Cut the following sheets of tissue paper: 4 sheets of red cut 10"x12", 3
sheets of pink cut 6"x10", 1 strip of green 15"x2".
Lay the pink sheets on top of each other and fold length wise.
Cut about 3/4 of an inch in every 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch NOT on the folded side
Unfold. You should now have a fringe on the two long sides.
Make accordion (folds as if you were making a fan), each fold about 1 to 11/2
inches.
Round off the ends. You should start the round about an inch from the end.
Open the fold up and lay the red sheets flat again.
Center the pink sheets on top of the red.
Now make the same accordion folds with the pink included this time.
Hold the folds together by twisting a pipe cleaner around the middle.
Gently open each layer of the tissue paper.
For the stem put glue on the end of one of the straws and squeeze that end
into the other straw.
Put a good amount of glue on the long ends of the pipe cleaner and then push
them into the straw.
Using tape or glue, wrap the green tissue paper around the straw.
Let dry.
